Reducing Drop-off in the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Flow

Задача: The legacy 2FA process had a 35% abandonment rate, causing significant user churn during the login and payment confirmation stages. The goal was to redesign the security flow to maintain high security standards while improving the user experience for the «Forgot Device» scenario.
Решение: Designed a «Passkey Recovery» system using biometrics and a trusted contact network. Instead of forcing users through a lengthy email/SMS verification, I created a UI that allowed users to verify their identity by having two trusted contacts confirm a push notification. A new, dynamic interface was built to show the recovery progress in real-time.
Результат: MFA abandonment decreased to 8%. Negative user feedback related to login dropped by 60%. The feature was cited as a key differentiator in the company's 2026 product roadmap.
