The series of digital prints «Objects» addresses the things that surround us. Gadgets, a lamp, an umbrella, and a vase lose their everyday function and turn into self-sufficient signs. I reject realism: a crisp contour, flat fill, and acid combinations of fuchsia, electric blue, and lemon yellow create poster-like clarity. The composition is devoid of perspective, which makes the prints akin to advertising and comics. Seriality emphasizes the reproducibility of the everyday, while gloss emphasizes its seductive surface. An object here does not tell a story; it exists as an icon of consumption. The ordinary is elevated to an aesthetic category, and digital printing creates a new mythology of things.
